Mr. Terence J. Toth is an Independent Director of Nuveen TaxAdvantaged Total Return Strategy Fund. Mr. Toth has served as a Director of Legal General Investment Management America, Inc. and as a Managing Partner at Promus Capital . From 2004 to 2007, he was Chief Executive Officer and President of Northern Trust Global Investments, and Executive Vice President of Quantitative Management Securities Lending from 2000 to 2004. He also formerly served on the Board of the Northern Trust Mutual Funds. He joined Northern Trust in 1994 after serving as Managing Director and Head of Global Securities Lending at Bankers Trust and Head of Government Trading and Cash Collateral Investment at Northern Trust from 1982 to 1986. He currently serves on the Board of Chicago Fellowship. He is on the Mather Foundation Board and is a member of its investment committee
