Mr. Mark S. Berg is the Executive Vice President, CorporationrationrateVertically Integrated Operations of Pioneer Natural Resources. Mr. Berg was elected as the Company Executive Vice President and General Counsel in April 2005, serving in those capacities until January 2014, at which time he assumed broader executive responsibilities, most recently being elected to serve as Executive Vice President, CorporationrationrateVertically Integrated Operations in May 2017. Mr. Berg had previously served as Executive Vice President, CorporationrationrateOperations since August 2015 and Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the general partner of Pioneer Southwest from June 2007 through the Company acquisition of Pioneer Southwest in December 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Berg served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of American General Corporation, a Fortune 200 diversified financial services company, from 1997 through 2002. Subsequent to the sale of American General to American International Group, Inc., Mr. Berg joined Hanover Compressor Company as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He served in that capacity from May 2002 through April 2004. Mr. Berg began his career in 1983 with the Houstonbased law firm of Vinson Elkins L.L.P. He was a partner with the firm from 1990 through 1997. Mr. Berg is also a director of ProPetro Holding Corporationration and HighPoint Resources Corporation since 2019.
