Commercial real estate investment trust Simon Property Group missed market expectations for third-quarter funds from operations on Friday, hurt by softer leasing demand at its mixed-use shopping centers. The company reported FFO, a key measure of performance of a REIT, of 2.84 per share for the quarter ended Sept. down from 3.20 per share a year earlier and below estimates of 3.03 per share, according to data compiled by LSEG.
