Mr. Courter has served as CoVice Chairman of the board of directors of Genie Energy International Corporation since September 2009. Mr. Courter was a senior partner in the New Jersey law firm of Courter, Kobert Cohen since 1972. He was also a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson Hand from January 1994 to September 1996 since 2021.

Courter was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for twelve years, retiring in January 1991.
