Ms. Judith M. Stockdale serves as Independent Director of Nuveen Real Estate Income Fund. Ms. Stockdale retired at the end of 2012 as Executive Director of the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, a private foundation working in land conservation and artistic vitality in the Chicago region and the Lowcountry of South Carolina. She is currently a board member of the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities and rejoined the board of the Land Trust Alliance in June 2013. Her previous positions include Executive Director of the Great Lakes Protection Fund, Executive Director of Openlands and Senior Staff Associate at the Chicago Community Trust. She has served on the Boards of the National Zoological Park, the Governors Science Advisory Council, the Nancy Ryerson Ranney Leadership Grants Program, Friends of Ryerson Woods and the Donors Forum

Nuveen Real Estate Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Nuveen Real's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Nuveen Real inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Nuveen. The board's role is to monitor Nuveen Real's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Nuveen Real's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects. On the other hand, Nuveen Real's outside directors are responsible for providing unbiased perspectives on the board's policies.
