Dr. Jean Michel Karam has served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Memscap SA as of June 4, 1998. He was also Member of the Company Strategic Committee since January 2007 and of Remuneration Committee since November 2008. He is also Chairman of Memscap Inc, Memscap AS, Laboratoires La Licorne SAS, IntuiSkin SAS and IntuiSkin Inc., among others. He has 17 years of experience which started in RD in the French National Center for Scientific Research. He served at French research institute TIMA Laboratories in Grenoble, where he started and built the Microsystems Group to 35 engineers. During that time he was consultant to a variety of international technology companies on MEMS projects. Additionally, Dr. Karam launched and managed the MEMS and the MultiChipModules manufacturing programs of CMP, a foundry service similar to MOSIS since 1998.

Karam received a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble in 1996, and additional electrical engineering degrees from Universite Denis Diderot Paris VII and the Ecole Superieure d'Ingenieurs en Electrotechnique et Electronique . He created MEMSCAP in 1997 and became Chief Executive Officer in 1998. He is the cofounder of many hightechnology companies, and is a consultant to several companies and investors.
