Mr. Balu Balakrishnan is President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Power Integrations, Inc. From September 1994 to September 1997, Mr. Balakrishnan served as vice president of engineering and marketing. Before joining Power Integrations in 1989, Mr. Balakrishnan was employed for 11 years by National Semiconductor Corporationrationration, where his responsibilities included engineering and productline management. Mr. Balakrishnan, who has 40 years of engineering, marketing and management experience in the semiconductor industry, is the chief inventor of several key Power Integrations technologies and was issued 195 U.S. patents. He has received the Discover Award for Technological Innovation as well as a TechAmerica Innovator Award, both in recognition of the environmental benefits of EcoSmart technology since 2010.
