Ms. Sarah J. Anderson is an Independent Director of Reliance Steel Aluminum Company. She was appointed a director of Reliance in July 2012. Ms. Anderson retired from Ernst Young LLP in June 2008 after more than 24 years with the firm, including as an assurance and advisory services partner from 1987 to 2008. Ms. Anderson is a certified public accountant and is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPAs. Ms. Anderson was appointed by the Governor of California to the California Board of Accountancy for two fouryear terms, which ended in 2015, and had served as president of the board. Ms. Anderson serves on the board of American States Water Company, a NYSElisted public company, which has three principal business units water and electric service utility operations and contracted services, for which Ms. Anderson serves as the chair of the audit committee. Ms. Anderson also served on the board and as audit committee chair of Kaiser Ventures LLC until May 2013 when the companys assets were transferred to a liquidating trust. Ms. Anderson serves on the audit committee of the Orange County Community Foundation and as an emeritus director of Pacific Symphony, a nonprofit 501 organization for which she served four years as chair of the board. Ms. Anderson also serves on the Board of Trustees of South Coast Repertory, a nonprofit 501 organization, where she serves as a member of the finance committee and the chair of the corporate development committee. Ms. Anderson serves as Chair of our Audit Committee and a member of our Nominating and Governance Committee since 2012.
