Prof. Dr. Derin Orhon is performing as Independent Member of the Board at Yesil Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi A.S. He also acts as Member of the Governance Committee of the Company. Prior to his current post, he was performing as Vice Chairman of the Company, a post he was elected on March 9, 2007. Prof. Dr. Orhon was working in Istanbul Teknik Universitesi since 1965. He became Assistant Professor in 1978, and Professor in 1988. He was Departmental Head of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Chairman of the Environmental Sciences Department. He was Dean of the Civil Engineering Faculty of ITU since 1997. Prof. Dr. Orhon won the TUBITAK Science Award in 1998, with his studies on environment biotechnology. He was awarded the Samuel H. Jenkins award by the International Water Association in 2000. He became Member of Turkiye Bilimler Akademisi and TUBITAK Bilim Kurulu in 2000 and 2001, respectively. He currently serves as Chairman of TUBITAK Environment Biotechnology Unit. He also takes part in projects, such as COST, EUREKA and MEDA. Prof since 2007.

Orhon received his Masters degree from the Construction Engineering Faculty of ITU in 1965. He received his MSc and Ph.D degrees in Environmental Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, in 1969 and 1971, respectively. He has published 230 scholarly articles and was cited over 2000 times internationally.
