Mrs. Nelson is a past director of Nicor, Inc. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Coal Council from 2000 2015 and served as Chair from 20062008. She serves on the advisory committee of the Center for Executive Women at Northwestern University. Mrs. Nelson was named to the 2012 National Association of Corporationrationrate Directors Directorship 100. She is an NACO Board Fellow. At TransAlta, Mrs. Nelson is the Chair of the Human Resources Committee of the Board.
