Bekar started his professional career in 2003 at Intel Corporationration as a Sr. Technology Development Engineer after a short postdoctoral study. During his tenure at Intel, Dr. Bekar assumed several positions such as Technology Development Manager, Process Development Manager, Area Manager, and Technologist and Staff Engineer focusing mainly on Technology Management and advanced manufacturing process development. He was appointed as the Deputy Director in 2014 for TUBITAK Marmara Research Center Material Institute. Shortly after this appointment he became the Vice President of MRC responsible for Business Development and Industrialization. He has focused on coordinating industry centric technology development and transfer as well as coordinating critical projects. He has also been serving as Turkish delegate to NMBP program committee Horizon 2020.
