Dr. Daniel C. Smith, Ph.D., is a Independent Director of Simon Property Group, Inc., since 2009. Professor of Marketing at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana University Foundation. Served as Dean of the Kelley School from 2005 2012 and as Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana University Foundation since 2012. Dr. Smith joined the faculty of the Kelley School in 1996 and has served as Chair of the Marketing Department, Chair of the MBA Program, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Dr. Smith has spent over 30 years teaching, conducting research, and consulting in the areas of marketing strategy, brand management, financial management, compensation, human resource development and corporate governance. He served as Dean of one of the country toprated and largest business schools and now is the Chief Executive Officer of one of the nation largest university foundations with 2.0 billion of assets. Both as Dean and Foundation Chief Executive Officer, he wasis responsible for financial oversight and longterm financial planning, hiring and retention policies, compensation policies, public relations and overall longterm strategy. He serves on our Compensation Committee. since 2009.
