Mr. Ramin Younessi is no longer as Group President of Energy Transportation of the company effective March 01, 2019. and was appointed as Group President of Construction Industries of the company, effective march 01, 2019. He most recently spent five years as a vice president with responsibility for the Industrial Power Systems Division. In this position, he led the business responsible for all engines 18 litres and below, retail generators 750kVA and Caterpillar Defense. Younessi has more than 30 years of progressive global business leadership in the industrial, commercial vehicle and engine industry. Prior to joining Caterpillar, he held a number of executive and senior leadership positions with Daimler AG and Navistar Inc. He was named group president of Caterpillars Energy Transportation segment in June of 2018. Younessi graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and has master degrees in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and engineering management from the University of Maryland. He is a registered professional engineer in Illinois and Maryland. Younessi serves on the Madison Dearborn Partners Basic Industries Roundtable. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and American Trucking Association. He also serves as the executive sponsor for Caterpillars Womens Initiative Network. since 2019.
