Mr. Stuart A. Miller is Independent Director of the company since May 2016. Mr. Miller has served as a director of Lennar, one of the nations largest homebuilders, since April 1990 and has served as Lennars Chief Executive Officer since April 1997. Mr. Miller also served as President of Lennar from April 1997 to April 2011. Mr. Miller is one of three directors designated by Lennar, which is our largest investor. From 1997 until 2005, Mr. Miller served as chairman of the board of directors of LNR Property Corporationrationration. As of February 21, 2017, Mr. Miller and his family owned shares of Lennar common stock entitling him to cast 41.8 percent of the combined votes that could be cast by all holders of Lennar common stock. Elected by the shareholders, the Five Point's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Five Point inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Five. The board's role is to monitor Five Point's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Five Point's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects.
